   I found out how dangerous these plates are. When I dropped a smaller plate on the counter from the cabinet it shattered into a thousand little pieces all over the counter, floor and flew across the room as far as 12 feet away. The broken hards are like little razors and are very difficult to see. It is very likely that these could fly into ones eye and cause serious damage or at least require a trip to the doctor to have it removed from the eyeball - yeesh, sounds very painfull. I am thinking of getting rid of these and replacing them with regular ceramic plates that don’t break into so many little pieces and “literally” explode all over the place from impact. I agree their should be a recall or at least a warning on these. The ironic thing is that on the back of the plate it says break and chip resistant, but if anything they break easier than glass or ceramic plates I have had. Even though it might be rare for one to drop or brake a plate, when it does happen it could cause serious injury if toddlers, little children, older people, or the disabled are nearby and step on the pieces. It took me like a whole hour to decontaminate the kitchen and then even later on I found a shard of glass on the rug, leading to the living room even though I made a point of not walking into the other oom until I swept and vacummed the kitchen. The shards are very scary looking like they could penetrate an artery!
   I had Corelle for so many years and never broke one with everyday use, but when I did drop it a couple feet it shattered into so many small pieces compared to other plates - maybe it gets really brittle after microwaving them since they are a sort of glass, however they are supposed to be microwave-safe.

   I give Corelle 5 stars. They are hard to break. That being said, if you DO break Corelle, it turns into thousands of needle and razor like shards that are really dangerous. I buy, use and recommend Corelle, but just be careful around the breakage if you do break a piece.

   I looked for somewhere to find these Corelle plates and found them on Amazon. My favorite dish and plate design should last a while and withstand my abuse.

   These are really pretty dishes. If you would like something that is very neutral, but not super plain, then these would be great. The biggest problem with ordering Corelle through the mail is that many times the dishes aren’t sufficiently padded, and you end up with breakage. As anyone knows who has used Corelle, it’s not like breaking a regular stoneware plate. It shatters like glass, and when you open the box, it gets tiny pieces EVERYWHERE. Huge mess, and the pieces are very sharp and will cut you. So be very, very careful. Amazon is really good about getting you a refund or replacement, though, so keep that in mind too.

   I originally purchased two sets of “Whisper” Corelle Dinnerware sets and felt that I needed more plates because I seemed to need more when the others were in the dishwasher. A good value for me and was so glad that Amazon carried them.

   I thought I was getting 8 plates for this price and I was very upset when it arrived and there was only 1. You could buy a plate directly from Correlle cheaper than what Amazon is charging. This is not the first time I have gotten screwed over by the way Amazon worded things. I think they do it intentionally. Don’t buy from Amazon, it is a rip off!

   I thought I was getting 4 plates for the $3.79 I paid for this plate! I only got one plate! $3.79 for Corelle is a little expensive!

   This was the best offer found anywhere on the internet. It was promptly shipped and received in perfect condition.

    I have used Corell plates for years and have recently dropped two on my porcelain tile kitchen floor. I was amazed at how the plates shattered into millions ot tiny pieces. Almost impossible to get it all up. Not so sure I’ll be buying more and am thinking about getting something different (unbreakable!) to use.

    I thought I would be getting more than one plate for the price of $6.40… what a rip off! I have found this same plate on other sites now for $3-$3.50….. I am very disappointed… usually Amazon has competitive prices… but not in this case.
    I would look else where for a better deal!

    Great product. Of course, not all of it made it to the house safely. Called up customer service and they immediately sent another box…no hassle. Didn’t even have to return the broken pieces. Excellent customer service.

    If you have children and want plates that are (nearly) unbreakable and don’t want to use plastic, this is the product for you. A little pricey for cheap tableware, but worth it.

    Corelle plates and bowls have been with our household ever since I remember.
    We used to have (we still have them but they are on the shelves) Corelles with color designs but we decided to stick with simple plain ones which is easier to match.

    Pros:
    -Durable. Me and my wife have dropped them many times; and they don’t break easily.
    -Light. Less stress for our kitchen shelves.
    -Microwave safe
    -Easy to clean
    -Dishwasher safe

    I do love the Corelle plates. These plates aren’t the same size as the smaller plates included in the 16 piece Corelle Set. They are actually a nice size inbetween the dinner plate and salad plates(?) included in the starter set. Had I known I was introducing a new size to the mix and not just adding a couple more medium sized plates, I might have ordered 4 instead of two.

    Corelle Square 16-Piece Dinnerware Set, Service for 4, Simple Lines We love our new dinnerware set. The color and design are wonderful and simple. Sometimes simple is better.

    While I just got this dinnerware and can’t attest to its durability yet, right off the bat I was disappointed with the color quality of the lines. Straight from the box the color in the lines looked like it was fading in spots - I expected it to be a rich, bold black as it looks in the photographs. I was also disappointed (I obviously didn’t look hard enough at the photo before I bought) that the bowls have no design on them. Lastly, I would get more use out of the smaller plates if they were smaller (for dessert, a side dish or a snack), as they are now the smaller plates are nearly as big as the larger plates and I don’t find that to be useful.

    This should be a beautiful dinnerware set….but,package arrived with broken plates /cups / bowls.
    This wasn’t from shipping, it was from poor package insulated.Return to Amazon !

    Bought just a few months back. its very nice . using it regularly since then. those mugs are just perfect..the size, shape ,material n feel ( its better than the other corelle set -Urban Red i have).

    The only disappointment was that the lines on the plates are not that dark as these mugs. they are slightly light…but still, the whole set is very beautiful.
